Statehouse Live: Legislative committee seeks answers on SRS office closures

A big thank you from this Kansas taxpaying family. It is time that political affiliation is put aside and figure out what is best for the citizens of Kansas. I am thankful that the legislators are paying attention. BRAVO! SRS administrators need to respond to questions. I understand the Secretary is giving pre-recorded statements now. If he can't be trusted to represent the agency he should really save the taxpayers 100,000+ and go back to Florida or better yet, join his kids wherever he left them. Putting this man in charge of the marriage initiative is the biggest joke of all.

Local officials, representatives hope to prevent closure of Lawrence SRS office

Putting money towards marriage initiatives when cutting srs services and asking judges not to committ individuals that are a danger or self or others is beyond messed up! Something has to change.

Send Siedlecki packing. Here comes the spin. SRS is keeping the office open because it would cost more to close it with the lawsuit and other things they failed to take into consideration with NO plan. " However, everybody recognizes the importance of resolving this in a way that maintains the relationships and the unique services that SRS is able to provide to our community.” Interpretation: SRS and the governor need to save face before they come out with the fact they are keeping it open. Let's meet and let them do that. At this point though, it doesn't matter. The citizens of our community that need service can continue to get them. That is good. Bottom line.

Statehouse Live: Former state hospital chief 'shocked' by administration's plan to close Lawrence office

Alceste - you are just rude. Greg Valentine was an excellent superintendent. He did hold employees accountable and as a taxpayer, I think you would appreciate that. Did he fire you for not doing your job? thats the only reason I can think of for your bitterness. He was a very effective leader in SRS and well respected.

SRS says workers now can transfer to Topeka; Douglas County commissioners petition governor over office closure

Moreno is BAD news. Watch for the press coming on this political appointment. He has a BIG mouth and has no clue what he is talking about. He is an arrogant buddy of Siedlecki. He (Siedlecki) does pay for loyalty. It is the ONLY way he will get it. They shall go down together.

not so. it should be announced any day that they are backing off. not because they care or because they are hearing the taxpayer, because they don't, but they stepped in it big time not researching the lease requirements or getting bad legal advice. the decision will be changed. watch for the spin.
