What living person would you put on a postage stamp?
Oprah Winfrey. Because, what the hell else are we going to do with her?

Lawrence man taken to hospital after rollover accident on U.S. Highway 40 near Douglas-Shawnee county line
Oonly, that information wasn't in the original article. There were no details at all when I first read it this afternoon.
It still could have been excessive speed, at least excessive for that curve and the skill of the driver. In my experience people generally ignore the speed limit on Hwy 40. Sounds like he's probably OK, and I'm glad for that.

Lawrence man taken to hospital after rollover accident on U.S. Highway 40 near Douglas-Shawnee county line
This time of year when the road is perfectly clear, and this time of day when the sun in the eyes should not have been a factor, there is one major cause I can think of--excessive speed. I like to drive 40 from Topeka to Lawrence and back, 6th Street to 6th Street, especially since the recent work on it. Also, it's fun (except when you get stuck behind a farm truck). Way better scenery than the turnpike.
And, since it *is* fun, people do drive too fast on it sometimes. Could be someone overestimated their abilities, or those of their vehicle.
Hope they recover well.

If you could only eat at one restaurant for the rest of your life, which one would you choose?
My sister's house. The food there is much better than any restaurant I've ever eaten in. Plus it's free to me. :D

Authorities say driver in I-70 crash in Douglas County was driving faster than 80 mph
Can you hit the "suggest removal" button on your own post? Or would that remove the original as well as the copies?

One person dead in early morning car accident in Riverfront Park in North Lawrence
Probable bad choices, but still sad for those left behind.

Police plan DUI check lane Friday evening in Lawrence
I've never had an abortion.
I don't drive after drinking, either.
My nose is exactly where it belongs, it's you who ASSumes you have some inherent right to drink and drive, which you do not.

I see maniac drivers everywhere I go, even on the city streets in Topeka, and in small towns. In small towns it's usually slow maniacs, but they are still maniacs.
I've learned to expect the dumbest possible moves from other drivers, then I'm ready for them when they fail to disappoint me.
I admit I missed the one last year who ran a stop sign onto 6th Street in Topeka at about 45 mph and t-boned my friend's car and spun us just like a pit maneuver. That one, I did not see coming, literally.

All the abortion in the world doesn't excuse you drunk drivers. Did I strike a nerve there, eh?

Here's hoping all you drunk drivers get caught tonight before you kill someone.
I hate every one of you. It's not "just a mistake," it's intentional attempted homicide as far as I'm concerned if you get behind the wheel impaired.
