Letter: PAC influence
Ms. Routh, were you aware that Leslie Soden has accepted campaign contributions from folks that you believe don't have the best interests of Lawrence in their hearts?
Why aren't you taking her to task for doing so?
Aron Cromwell voted for Rock Chalk Park and he donated $100 to Ms. Soden according to her report. She also received money from Judy Paley who is married to downtown landlord, George Paley.
If you want us to follow the money, and I have no objection in doing so, perhaps you should pay attention to whose your contributions are being mixed in

Oh no. Folks, it is way worse than I thought.
Tobias Schlingensiepen donated $100 to her.
This means outside influences are trying to infiltrate Lawrence politics!!!

Well, guess who is the first person listed on Leslie Soden's contribution report? Donated $100.

Cromwell donated $100 too. Tom Harper who is a realtor for Stephens Real Estate also donated. Judy Paley, married to George Paley, donated as well.
You know what that means?
Leslie Soden is PRO-DEVELOPMENT!!! BIG BUSINESS!!! PURE EVIL!!!!

Bill targeting sex-selection abortion heard in House committee
That is called a resolution, which the Legislature could have done at any point in time without wasting tax payer money.

Bill targeting sex-selection abortion heard in House committee
And there are laws against gender selection abortion in India. They are not even remotely enforceable just like it will be here.

City set to finalize curbside recycling program to begin October 2014; monthly rate $2.81
I am complaining because I was already recycling for years for free and he money from those recyclables went to the schools who had the recycling dumpsters on their property.
Now I am forced to pay for a service that I do not need and do not want. Additionally the money Hamm makes off the recyclables go into his pocket and I prefer not to enrich him any further.

City set to finalize curbside recycling program to begin October 2014; monthly rate $2.81
I will be refusing the cart and when the program starts, unless there is an exemption for the schools to continue to be paid for the recyclables they collect, all of my recyclables will be going straight into the trash.
And it is unlikely, even if the schools fall under the business exception, that Deffenbaugh will continue to pick up the recyclables and pay them for it.
The City of Lawrence is taking money away from schools, putting private legal businesses out of commision and will be taking jobs away from the disabled (jobs will be cut when Walmart cuts them due to decreased usage - assuming that Walmart will be allowed to keep their center open by the city).
