It’s the little things: Free State baseball trounces Olathe East, but isn’t perfect

Not to mention Mosiman, from the basketball team, lives in Free State area but his mom and stepdad have properties all over town.

It goes on in all sports as well as on the academic side and it goes both ways. Lawrence should just have an open enrollment policy, but make it a pain for the kid to move to change to the other school once he/she has made that initial decision.

Actually, I believe it is closer to McClouth, but don't let that and the fact that his family went through all of the proper channels over four years ago to get the out of district transfer approved.

Kind of hard to believe a family would want to send their kid to a school in a larger neighboring city, that offers more programs and better prepares the kid for college. How dare they try and help out their child and follow the rules at the same time.

A car crashed into Lawrence Family Vision Clinic, 3111 W. Sixth St., Tuesday, March 29, 2011. Medics

Following the tire tracks, it looks like everyone is luckier than they might believe. The driver was at least able to correct enough to avoid the gas meters on the back side of the building.

Town Talk: Carter, Schumm, Dever lead in City Commission fundraising; chamber releases responses to questionnaire

No problems with a candidate not beholden to special interests. My problem with this particular candidate is the way he has handled himself in the community prior filing for office.

Do you live in Manhattan or Topeka?

The election of Sven would not be entertaining for any citizen of Lawrence.

First Bell: West Junior High won’t become Google Middle School; childcare more expensive than college tuition; dress-code bill hits roadblock in Iowa

You didn't really expect an answer did you Maria? These folks aren't responsive to the people. It's all a big ego boost to them.

You've already reported that Central is the only school that wants to make a change to somehow incorporate Liberty into the name. I can see that given the history of that building. If the other three are recommending keeping the directional name then there ISN'T any reason to change anything else - i.e. from JH to MS. Maria's earlier challenge, and several other posters, have proven those justifications to be false.

It'll never happen Maria. If Fagan asks the tough question and follows it up, the board members will avoid talking to him completely.
