Newspapers exist to sell advertising. The numbers aren't there anymore. The demise of the newspaper industry is a sad thing, but inevitable.

There are reasons why they lost the Gannett contract. The LJW is indeed nearing its demise. Just ask those people whose jobs were eliminated last week. You could count the number of advertisements in yesterday's paper on one hand. Without the advertising revenue, the newspaper has little value. They are not using the Sunflower windfall to support the newspaper. Soon, they will only be left with the ljworld.com web site.
