Local real estate executives complete deal to purchase Lawrence-based Stephens Real Estate
Sadly, this describes our experience as well. Our initial interactions were positive. Then, we were shown his true colors. We were buyers and I had my head chewed off a couple of times. I asked too many questions. This is unacceptable.
He apologized the first time but I got no apologies the second occurrence. Any goodwill gained was effectively destroyed. One can disagree but still employ civility. We were calm and civil but he became loud and belligerent. He was literally yelling.
How do you reason with someone like this? You don't-that is their M.O. In hindsight we should have walked away and waited on the market. We won't be using Stephens when we sell.
I can not emphasize enough that you must get every detail in writing-no matter how seemingly small. All-around a disappointing experience. Well, live and learn right?
