Mexican restaurant Tapas closes as it loses lease on downtown building; Mexquisito expands into Eudora

Just because Tapa's lost their lease doesn't mean you have to compare it to Mexquisito! They are way different style of mexican and Latin foods! You should try Mequisito's sister resturaunt on 6th street called Tortas Jalisco for more of traditional family dishes! Mexquisito is true authentic food ! I will gladly pay for chips and salsa there!

Police pursue man with stolen checks, gun, suspected in Tonganoxie burglary

This chase went in front of my house on Lawrence Ave. At the speeds they (the perp and the one police car following) were traveling it was a very dangerous situation. They headed E on 9th towards Sunset Hill. I'm guessing they called it off due to the threat to the general public, a decision that in my opinion should have happened sooner than it did.

Free State counselor killed in vehicle-train accident near Riverfront Park north of Lawrence

She was our soccer coach. She was absolutely wonderful with my son and the rest of the kids. This is devastating ... my thoughts and prayers go out to her beautiful family.
