Should student-athletes get a cut of NCAA revenues?
Apartment, food, college etc is pennies in comparison. Everyone chastises pro athletes when they go on "lockout" but they too (in some instances, not all) are not being compensated for how much money they bring in.
I'm not saying athletes have it rough, but they are getting the raw-end of the deal.

Firefighter cited for battery after argument
Can't agree more.
If I was brought up on battery charges, you bet I would be out of a job. . .& I don't even hold a job as "highly regarded" as a fireman.
A cop brought up on battery charges wouldn't fly, I don't know why this would.
If he's found guilty, then he should be out of a job.

Show of respect
ffs, who cares. Get off of it.
If someone wants to not take off their hat, stand up etc so be it. Your hubby was in the wrong by even opening his mouth in the first place.
If it is indeed true that the victim was "grabbed by the back of the neck" then yes, I hope your husband gets what he deserves. I know for sure I wouldn't want him assisting someone out in the field that was "unpatriotic."

He's obviously a terrorist, born from the same roots as Obama. Another terrorist in power. What next?

Statehouse Live: Parkinson says he signed concealed carry expansion to avoid veto showdowns over other issues
People that have a gun & plan on using it, it doesn't matter, government building, a car, your house etc
Law or not, someone that plans on shooting someone(s) is going to carry a gun regardless of law.

Machine failure blamed for knocking out KU website and e-mail; most service expected back tonight
This is essentially what happens when you underfund an IT unit.
This is also true for not only KU, but for a lot of businesses / corporations out there.
I can guarantee this will raise a lot of questions / cries for help that the IT there has brought onto deaf ears. If any good were to come out of this situation, I'd hope the powers that be would be there to answer these questions & resolve these issues.
Anyone that has ever set foot in any IT department knows this all too well & can only sympathize for the people involved in a situation like this. You can't expect a battleship when you buy a crew & boat that of a Somali pirate boat.
