Day 5: The murder of Onzie Branch
"Knocking on wood, Lawrence has been fortunate in the past few years, with no recorded homicides in the city since the 2008."
Shaun you use the term homicide not murder in your article. The definition of a homicide is the killing of a human being by another human being.

Day 5: The murder of Onzie Branch
I think the Sardina family will disagree that there have been no homicides since 2008.

Lawrence man jumps in to help police officer subdue out-of-control suspect
I've known Nick since he was a young boy playing baseball for the Cougars with my son. He is a great young man and his actions in this incident don't surprise me. Good job Nick.

Why does it matter if the kid who was knocked out was the son of a well known business man or the son of a not so well known blue collar worker. The problem with this situation is a lot of these kids have been been spoiled rotten and believe they are above the law. Well they found out they are no better than the eastside kids.

I for one applaud Ms. McGowan's efforts. It appears to me she is being attacked for kicking some ass in court and calling a duck a duck. Keep up the great work Ms McGowan and thanks for trying to make Lawrence a safe place to live
