Editorial: Depot windfall

More government spending. Did I not hear that just to repair the roof on that thing was close to 1 million dollars. I want to bid on that. Is that a closed bid? Who do we contact on that RFP? Ching, Ching, Ching!

Fritzel has made $50,000 payment related to Varsity House settlement with city, officials confirm

Has not Fritzel be given funds already to start the infastructure. Thought those funds were released (around Christmas) in 2012. I would bet he payed the money he owed us out of his new Philanthropic LLC. So LMAO!

City discussing new police facility

This should be a very simple dialog. Hire Thomas Fritzel to do the work, it will come in half of what we paid the arch firm to estimate it. Win Win. Or we can go for the no bid deal with Thomas and be right on the arch estimate and then some. WTF!!!!! Oh, and don't think these jokers are going to leave 2.5 mil on the table on the rec deal. They will consume it all and not one penny more. Who in there right mind would do that? And there will be change orders for sure. Thanks Thomas for all your love for your city. You must only go out in public looking like the geico guy with money falling all over the place. I bet that is the way you present yourself with our council. They have no balls in their court.

Day after city's bid opening for recreation center, relief and a few questions

This has been a scam from the get go. We the people know that. Money is the root of all evil. What Timmy wants is what Timmy gets. Plain and simple. I am tierd of commenting this BS. Maybe with the extra money, we can buy $10 million of art stuff to go in it. They did that with the library with no inkcling of change orders that will make up the difference and then some. I bid my jobs on the money the best that I can, no insider info, my clients know how much they are going to pay at the end. On the other end, I have lost many jobs from a low bidder who will upcharge the price in the middle of the job. They are now my clients because I bid it right, but I will never get that job back. Way done with this BS fritzalmania stuff.

City of Lawrence begins using new automated trash truck

I don't want to believe that about Chad, but you could be a little right on some stuff maybe. I like Chads work and if I was in his line of work, you want the truth. Keep up the good work Chad.

Automated trash truck

Nice video but dang. Is this the recycle video? Was that trash? Looked like future mulch to me. Am I wrong or what? I thought this town was all about being green. Well the paper did say we (our city elected officials make this a very unattractive and not a buisiness freindly town. At least we are at the top of the worst list of cities in the United States of America). Hey, we could save alot of money if we axed all of our officials and just as Timmy what he wants. Timmy always get what he wants. Seems like he rules the roost at KU too. Money is the root of all evil.

City of Lawrence begins using new automated trash truck

Interesting! Are these trucks green and energy efficient? Seems like they will be doing alot of backtracking if they can only do one side at a time. Twice the amount of fuel + maintenance +++. I like the idea, but I am not sold as a taxpayer(not that I had a choice. I know, go vote. Which I do but that is not my point. And you know as well as I do how the vote thing works). How many folks are they laying of to cover the additonal expense? Chad, could you give us some specifics on all of this? I like the idea but not sure I like it unless I have more info. I know it is a done deal, but it does not seem like a good Lawrence greentown deal.

KBI arrests Franklin County sheriff and deputy on obstruction of justice charges

I think it might have something to do with the drug bust that happened. Not sure though.
