Lawrence drivers, at home or hitting the road, benefit from drop in gas prices

$3.85 in Los Angeles. Anyone in Lawrence want to trade? Our State gas tax just went up 3.5 cents a gallon because we aren't buying enough gasoline. There is plenty of oil in the ground, but we can't drill much of it, because the same legislators who raised the tax, won't allow it.

Kansas-Carolina more than coaches

It's being reported that UCLA is going to fire Ben Howland. Build a wall around Coach Self. Jam his cell phone. Show him pictures of million dollar, one bedroom "tear down" homes in West LA.

Bear-ly worth celebrating: KU blown out by Baylor but ties for Big 12 crown

KU should be fine in the post season. Baylor just played a great game. Which one was Brittney Griner?

Once this is built, maybe they could do a remake of "The Andromeda Strain" in Manhattan. Something along the line of, "The Day After."

The umbrellas can't be moved, so that they don't extend into the sidewalk right-of-way?

KU: "If that plane leaves the ground and you're not on it, you'll regret it. Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow, but soon and for the rest of your life."

Milton: "But what about Kansas?"

KU: "We'll always have Paris."

(Mid)major bummer: Davidson proves KU ‘not that good’

I hope they play better Thursday at USC, or they will have a long, sad flight back just before Christmas. I am taking my grandson to see his second KU game.

‘Power surge’: KU introduces ‘old ball coach’ Charlie Weis to fix, fire-up program

Over time, few schools can maintain excellence in both football and basketball. Once in awhile, you get lucky and have two great coaches, and it happens for a short time.

Kansas is a basketball school. Football success depends on a coach with the right mix of ability and the humility to know he will always be second to the basketball coach. Not an easy thing to do.

Kansas is similar to UCLA and North Carolina. Basketball is number one, with football, only occasionally being successful. Wisconsin and Florida are the only schools, I can think of, that have had recent success in both sports.
