City to install blue traffic lights for catching drivers running red lights

That's right. Whenever the traffic signal goes red, the blue light goes on. There aren't any extra sensors or anything. Ian Cummings, LJW.

The bank and the police know how much money was taken. Historically, authorities often do not release that information publicly, so as not to encourage more bank robbers. Ian Cummings, LJW.

Douglas County homicide case, with ties to other crimes, remains open

Neither the Douglas County Sheriff's Office nor any Shawnee County agency has said anything about that. At this point, since the body was found in Douglas County, the case belongs to Douglas County. Ian Cummings, LJW.

Both appear to have connections to Topeka, but it's not clear where they reside. As noted in the story, Mario A. King was recently paroled after being convicted of a crime in Shawnee County. Ian Cummings, LJW.

Battery covers all types of unlawful rude contact with another person, and is a misdemeanor. Aggravated battery covers a physical attack, with or without weapons, that causes serious injury to another person, and is a felony. Ian Cummings, LJW.
