Popular breakfast restaurant Milton's returning to downtown in space currently occupied by Loopy's

I had enough of his attitude one day and walked to the Eldridge. I found the food, service, and prices so much better. I will never go back to Milton's. Who wants to start the day with those ugly stares and snotty comments.

Exactly why I have not missed Milton's and never cared to go to his new place. Who needs the attitude?

Menard's project highlights city rule on vacant space; a look at how Lawrence ranks in state retail report

I question the accuracy of the numbers. Hutchinson is reported as having a pull of 1.27. Really? Shopping there is minimal as the mall is all but defunct. Seems most folks in Hutchinson go to Wichita or KC for shopping (or to go to the movies).

Mrs. Kansas, a Lawrence resident, uses platform to raise awareness about poverty

Nice article, well deserved. Very unselfish and giving person. Love her honesty!

On a side note, was the Mrs. Kansas event really held in Branson, MO? Too bad we (Kansas) can't host this.

Brownback wants to keep higher state sales tax; Democrats say that proves his income tax policy isn't working

I like the State income tax cut. I, like many other Kansans, work in Missouri which is taxed at a much lower rate. Never fun to write a $500 check every year to the State of Kansas (either via payroll deductions or a check in April) after paying the 1% City of Kansas City earnings tax.

House approves bill requiring KU Medical Center to establish stem cell research center

So the Legislature takes away funding and then mandates that KU expands teaching and expand research areas. Am I missing something? KU used to be state supported, then it became state assisted. How do we categorize it now? Given that a large percentage of our lawmakers do not have college degres, do they understand the role of higher education. Maybe the universities should privatize so they can actually function as universities of higher learning, and not extensions of mediocrity.

Rule changes on how many unrelated people can live in a house up for discussion at City Hall

time2kill - four unrelated college kids live next to me and they party all night long without regard to the person trying to sleep 30 feet from their party zone. We wouldn't have a problem if folks would grow up and respect others.

Employee at Sprint retailer arrested for allegedly stealing $5K in phones

Maybe that explains some of the ongoing problems I have had with that store. Word of warning - it is a "3rd party store" and Sprint will not honor returns at other stores.
