Bicylist injured after colliding with vehicle on East 23rd Street

I ride and I try to find the least traveled streets I can to get from A to B. No way I;m going to risk Iowa, 23rd, Kasold, 6th, Mass or any other super busy street. I've done this since I was a kid. Sometimes I drive down the road in this town and wonder if anyone is watching the road. Usually they're looking at their crotch to see or respond to the latest breaking news on their phone. The breaking news is you're about to crash into something if you don't look up soon. Due to my job I drive many hours on the streets of this town every day. I can't tell you how many fixed object crashes I've seen over the past few years. People talking and texting on their phones often have no idea where there car is in relation to the world as they are in cyber space texting. I've seen people hit poles, curds, medians, traffic calming devices, and other cars because they were looking at a smart phone screen. More than once I've seen the whole front wheel and suspension torn from under a car because the driver hit a curb or a high median. I saw these first hand and could see the driver texting. I saw two in one day. You know what? I didn't feel one bit sorry for any of them. I just drove on while looking at these idiots. These idiots with the dumb look on their faces. They were so confused as to why the car they were driving was now a wreck. The only thing I was thankful for is that they did't kill someone or crash into me.

Would anyone here want to ride down 23rd street on a bicycle? You couldn't pay me enough. People are way too busy on their phones today. Even prior to mobile phones this would have been dangerous. When I ride anywhere I take side streets and avoid busy roads. I'm usually on my way to the levy and trails where it's safe. I'll take dodging trees over dealing with traffic anytime.

What? People in cars don't seem to stop at stop signs in this town anymore. Stop signs are for everyone else but them.

Employment law still catching up to social media

It was on one of the shows on Sirius Radio Friday. I didn't listen to the show but it was a main topic.

Guth's tweet puts him in middle of political firestorm

There is some question in England as to how crime is being reported today as compared to the past. Theft from the person, rape and fraud have increased (by 9%, 2% and 27% respectively). Other crimes are being dealt with differently in terms of how they are reported or the fact some crimes are downgraded to a lessor offense as compared to years past. This has some wondering if the UK government has changed reporting standards due to tightening of budgets for police. With these new reporting standards it's possible to make the people feel safe while changing the method of reporting crime. You can call an orange and apple all you want but it doesn't change what it is. The Telegraph and other news sources have reported this. This wouldn't be the first time a government played a shell game by changing the way numbers are crunched. The way our unemployment rate is calculated is a prime example of fluffing the numbers.

KU journalism professor Guth placed on leave as school reviews comment he made on Twitter on shootings

Rule #1 ...don't poke the Bear. Rule #2 ...don't anger the people with the checkbook. Strategic Communications? Really? Not very stra·te·gic or el·o·quent.

It'll just be owned and operated by another set of tools. I'd like to have a federal government that wasn't owned and operated by Goldman Sachs, Monsanto, GE, etc.

I'm free to tell my boss to go suck a moon pie all I want. Then my boss will show me the financial reality of my free speech.

Right wing or left wing they're both parts of the same sick bird.
