City commissioner wants state to revoke nightclub's liquor license
Maybe the threat of having their liquor license revoked will encourage them to get their act together?

FreedomWorks urges Legislature to reject Common Core reading and math standards
In one segment of my brain I would agree with them (on the level that the standard of education should not be a generalized test for every student in the country) but then when you think about it further ...
Math is universal. There absolutely zero debate how geometry and algebra works. I use absolutely zero of the calculus I took in high school and part of college, but I'm glad I at least got the experience.

Deerfield - 1 Court, unpainted concrete, decent condition
Holcom - 2 courts, painted, good condition (good location for neighborhood access)
Lyons - 2 courts, painted, good condition (GREAT for the North side of town, they deserve it)
Veteran's - 2 courts, painted, decent condition (although they tend to get occupied quickly)
The there are 8 courts at the LHS site. Seems like we would get a lot more courts for the minimal amount of lighting necessary.

How about you take your indignation and direct it towards the Rock Chalk Park. These courts are also a part of LHS.

I'm thinking big picture and advocating access for all. Not just those that are able to drive. As another comment stated, it's not just for adults, but kids also.
