Suspended police officers’ names not released

It would seem that Lawrencians only believe in "innocent until proven guilty" when the crime - which the FBI said there wasn't one committed; at least, not enough to prosecute - is allegedly committed by a non-law enforcement official. Otherwise, it's a race to see who can find the rope...

Is it the value ($$) of the item exchanged that bothers you or the context in which it occurs? I'm a little confused as to your position.

Owner of former Yellow House Store files lawsuit against KU Police Department, detective

Because, in order to convict in the first place, the prosecution had to show grounds for the charges. She was convicted. Then the appellate court looked at it and, if her attorneys had been incompetent in her defense by, say, failing to object to evidence that would have a substantive impact on the outcome, thereby preserving the issue for appeal, the court would have sent it back or ordered a new trial; they did not. Her conviction was affirmed. What does that mean? This suit is going nowhere.

Two Lawrence police department employees suspended, pending investigation
