Lawrence High senior Caitlin Broadwell was sidelined from sports for seven months after being diagno

Excellent portrait. It tells the story better than the article.

Speculation starts on who would run for Davis' legislative seat if he runs for governor

Davis is a "Democrat from Lawrence." He can't win, no matter how sane, rational, and intelligent he is.

I'm a moderate R. and would certainly vote for Davis over Brownback. But Davis can't win. Davis gives Brownback an easy campaign theme in the rest of the state: "Would you rather have me as Governor or a Democrat from Lawrence?" A Democrat might be able to beat Brownback, but not one from Lawrence.

Don't run Mr. Davis. Brownback wins if you do.

By dad was a dog lover too. He'd be horrified to be buried in a cemetery that bans dogs. It wouldn't upset him a bit to know that a dog left something on his grave. It would probably amuse him.

Stegall urged 'forcible resistance' to Schiavo court ruling that removed life support

Actually, it might be that Brownback is Stegall's pet governor.

Notable Kansans weighing in against new appellate court selection process

No stretch. It's implicit in participating in the process. Lots opted out because of it.

It is also possible that Six understood exactly what he was doing in writing the letter. Maybe some quid pro quo was offered by the Republicans, and Six won't be blocked from a future 10th Circuit nomination?

Notable Kansans weighing in against new appellate court selection process

Many lawyers did not apply for this Court of Appeals position because to participate in the process impliedly endorses the process. Those who wrote letters of support for Stegall likewise impliedly endorsed the process. Shame on them.
