City about to run out of road salt

kneejerkreaction:

You know, this is the first time since 2004 that they've done it. I just don't see why today was so much worse than a dozen other non-cancelled school days I can recall.

City about to run out of road salt

As a student, I was really surprised that KU cancelled class today. I do not entirely see the justification.

Can someone enlighten me?

How will you spend 600 bucks?

I'll stick in my IRA.

I've got 45 years left until retirement, and even if I leave the bare minimum ($300) alone at a reasonable rate of return it will be $6300, in 2053 dollars.

Thanks, Uncle Sam.

Brandon Rush taken into custody on traffic warrants

I am glad Andini here has the authority to speak for everyone. It's very reassuring.

KU proposals for funding win regents' approval

I'm with booze_buds_03 here.

It is a triumph of financial management that KU even has such a large endowment, especially given that the state provides only around a quarter of the University's funding.

KU police seek public help after another window shooting

Apparently not. As a student, I eat there at least 10 times a week, and noticed the hole in the window today. I asked one of the employees and I was informed that this happened sometime Saturday night or Sunday morning. As the dining center is only open 11AM-2PM and 5PM-8PM on Saturday nobody was there at the time.

Whoever gets their kicks shooting at windows of the Ekdahl Dining Commons needs something better to do with their time. At least they aren't shooting people.

Trick or treat?

Ha! I am the first!

I am a consensus, 100% of one!

Gamers say Xbox hits mark with sci-fi war's final installment

Halo 3 = Halo 2 + closure + pretty graphics + new guns and vehicles

I am fairly convinced that Halo 3 would have been lauded regardless of how good it was (or wasn't.) Bungie really was jut updating and fine-tuning an already good shooter. I maintain, however that Halo is not popular because it is an amazing shooter - in my opinion the Half Life and Unreal series are far superior. Halo is popular because it pioneered interactive internet gameplay for a console. It really did revolutionize console shooters; it did not pioneer the shooter genre as a whole.

Woman leaves three dogs in hot vehicle

A Sega Genesis...wow.

That has to be worth about $20 by now.

Were the three women in the same house, or were they three separate incidents?

Chat about law to confront school bullies

Um, whoa.

Unable to reach the guest? I hope it's not any kind of emergency for Rep. Huntington.
