Rumor mill running wild about possible changes at Lawrence Athletic Club
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Why all the snarky wife comments?

Town Talk: Dillons on Sixth Street seeking to add drive-thru pharmacy, $1 million worth of improvements; downtown restaurants scramble to pick up breakfast diners; city to contemplate Varsity House
The guy built a really tacky monolith on top of our mountain and then put astroturf down in the yard around the house he bought in Old West Lawrence. I think we can all agree that perhaps he shouldn't be making any big decisions regarding historic preservation or integrity of environs.

Lawrence residents say goodbye to popular downtown breakfast spot
Years ago we went to Milton's regularly and had a lovely experience with both food and wait staff. However, after my first son was born we went less regularly because I got the feeling kids weren't welcome. The last time we went, my son (who would have been younger than two) bumped the table causing a bottle of hot sauce to fall off the table and break. Holy moly! The hostile reaction from the owner was incredible. I was mortified. We've never been back and we'll probably not go to his new place either. I miss Paradise.

Costs, scope of proposed recreation center escalate
I have no idea what you're asking me to sing, but it sounds like a delicious soup I used to get in San Francisco.

Body found near Clinton Lake dam; no foul play suspected
If it's a suicide, and I'm NOT saying it is, I believe the general rule is no reporting unless it's a public person or a person in a public place.

Town Talk: City trying to determine what type of fine it can levy on Varsity House project; Deciphera undertaking new strategy, rumors of layoffs
I love Town Talk, but I swear, Chad. If I were your wife I'd be pissed at you all the time.

Parents, staff offer thoughts on improvements to Pinckney School
This meeting was part of a larger discussion about improving all the schools in the district. To tear down all and replace would far outweigh the cost of making long-term district-wide improvements. The bigger questions are:
1) What happens if we can't pass a bond issue? Is the status quo fiscally and functionally sustainable?
2) Can we get the state to fund education adequately enough to get the full benefit from these improvements?
Please come to one of the future meetings to voice your opinion where it will really count! http://www.usd497.org/documents/Commu...
