20-year-old man in jail on kidnapping, robbery charges

Aren't certain home invasions classified as a robbery AND kidnapping? Or am I remembering that wrong?

Warrant issued in burglary cases

Sounds to me like the first person caught named names on his buddies. I assume he ran when the dominoes started tipping. I sincerely hope that the police catch him.

Colorado shooting suspect wrote of 'unquenchable curiosity,' experiences working with underprivileged children in KU application

I'd be rather interested in knowing why Iowa refused to allow him under any circumstances but we were super interested in him. Did I miss something in a separate/previous article?

Haskell provides no new details on violations

More of Haskell? Your question was worded ambiguously. But, a few bad apples don't mean the whole bushel is rotten.

Cardiologist — and many others — offer help to 11-year-old entrepreneur who fell victim to theft

Absolutely. He should engrave his or dad's name, and dad's driver's license number. And do it somewhere that's not easily seen do it can't be removed with a grinder before the thief tries to turn it over.

Sound Off: About a year ago, the city promised to redo the Breezedale entrance sign at 23rd and Mass

Probably because it's on the register of historic places. If one of the residents decided to fix it up themselves it could be a violation of whatever federal laws apply to that sort of thing.

Property owner claims in lawsuit Overbrook man cut $50,000 worth of trees for firewood

I think part of the issue was the fact that he said he was going to cut the Hedge trees, but cut a good deal that were *not* Hedge trees. Sure they were part of the mix, but not exclusively Hedge/Osage Orange.

City workers clear homeless campsite

I don't know what the solution is, but blogging and commenting isn't going to get anything done. I think it's useless to try to develop downtown as a family friendly area with panhandlers downtown. The city should make an ordinance against asking for money.I just hate going down there anymore knowing I'm going to have some college student, generally with better jeans and shoes than I have come up and ask me if I have any spare change. The problem isn't the homeless in this situation, it's freeloading people in their twenties, who are perfectly able to work. If the "Hungry, Hungry Hippies" and other young people put the effort into finding a job or learning a trade that they put into making signs and begging me and my family for money (or food whenever leaving a restaurant. Yeah, let me just hand you this whole and uneaten pizza that my family can afford to buy once every two weeks. We don't mind giving up a rare treat because you're too damn lazy to do anything other than beg off of hardworking people.) when walking down the street. If we were less friendly to these kids who find it easier to beg between classes than to work like the rest us, there wouldn't be as many of themI think we need to help the homeless, disabled, and other people who need help and are willing to help themselves with the help offered. However, these panhandlers who are going home to warm homes, apartments, and dorms need to be ticketed or jailed.Outlaw Panhandling!

I rode the school bus with this girl, and honestly, I'm not surprised.
