Statehouse Live: Kansas bans alcoholic energy drinks Four Loko, Four Maxed, Joose and Max

And I can go to any restaurant on Mass and order a double whiskey and coke, that is often times much stronger. But how much stronger? Who knows! At least the alcohol content is controlled in these drinks. This is just going to continue to encourage students to drink other strong mix-drinks - except now they won't know the alcohol content. Horray for "trashcan punch" and Everclear concoctions!

Kansas State Board of Education to address statewide anti-bullying policy

I encourage anyone that has been detrimentally bullied to swing as hard as they can, and aim for the bully's nose. To say that they will "consider" and anti-bullying campaign is such a slap in the face. I'm a little shocked that, in the 21st century, the Kansas Board of Education is just considering an anti-bullying measure. It's not something that needs to be considered!

Gill says team policy on women not causing a negative reaction from players

I respect Gill for stepping up and talking about some of the team policies, and I don't think that this is a big deal. Maybe we should look to Coach Leach for some advice, haha.

Doctors, dentists have highest-paid jobs in Kansas, according to Kansas Department of Labor

That's to POWER it, not to "run" it. Think about the salaries of each and every single person there, and then remember that it's operating at (hopefully) full capacity day-in and day-out, 24/7, 365 days a year.

Doctors, dentists have highest-paid jobs in Kansas, according to Kansas Department of Labor

MRI machines are extremely expensive to produce, operate, transport, and maintain; that's just part of living in the 21st century. Until a group of kids and a zany teacher manage to board a magic bus into your blood stream and to count molecules by hand, we are going to have to adhere to the notion that really, really big magnets and their associated precision measurements cost quite a bit of money. (Don't consider this a bad thing, but rather that you are helping fund the science that put this kind of accessibility into our hands).

I can guarantee you that you don't even have the faintest idea how much it costs to run a hospital for 24 hours; a major hospital in Dallas approaches $10 million a day.

Autopsy report: Man died of fall from Oread roof, had alcohol and marijuana in system

Actually, I feel like the article wasn't very clear on this point. The coroner would know if the level of THC in his system was consistent with a someone who was impaired by it at the time of their death, or whether it was just residual traces left over from a past session. I wish they could clarify this.

I don't know what your problem this. This was a very big story for people in this town, as tragic and untimely as his death was. The fact that alcohol and marijuana were both present in his system is particularly pertinent, and we all know that they absolutely affect your judgement, actions, and mental capacity when you are under their influence. What would you have preferred LJWorld to write?
