Any awards for teachers at KU that don't include Dr. Jeff Lang, mathematics professor, are irrelevant. He is far and away the best teacher the University of Kansas has to offer.

Kansas boat tax question winning

Wouldn't a new tax on boats DISCOURAGE people from buying or registering a boat in kansas? Come on people this is simple logic.

Do you think events that are designed to raise awareness of breast cancer are effective?

I don't think making people aware of breast cancer is an issue anymore. I think making people care enough to donate money or assistance is more the issue. The apathy in today's society is deplorable. We're overstimulated, overworked, and underpaid. That makes for a society that doesn't care about anything until something happens to them or someone they love. Too many people are too wrapped up in their own personal lives to give a damn about anyone else until it's too late.

Soo, let me get this straight. The President of another country comes to Lawrence, specifically to The University of Kansas, to accept an award, who also happens to be a former graduate of KU, and the lead story on LJWhirled is the restructuring of the MBA program at the KU School of Business???!!?? Bad form LJW, Bad form. Whoever the editor of the LJW is, needs to be majorly reprimanded!! How often does Lawrence play host to world leaders? Especially world leaders that attended KU? Today is a new low for the LJW.

Bill Self to visit nation’s top-ranked preps

rockchalker52, I agree that Kentucky fans would argue that point. However, how many of them could name their players from as little as 3 years ago? I feel like KU fans get a lot more attached to their players with Bill Self's system, and they make these players feel more like they're part of the Jayhawk family. I much prefer Bill Self's style to the shady sleazeballs like Calapari and Calhoun.

Search to hire new internal audit director to begin in fall

This "Kansas University" thing at LJ-Whirled has to stop. It is "The University of Kansas," it even says it right there on Strong Hall. I don't understand why all the staff of this paper have been directed to write it this way. Until the university itself changes it's official stance, LJ-Whirled should use the proper form.
