Lawrence Humane Society waiving adoption fee Saturday

We also have animals adopted from LHS. Recently our 16 year old cat was picked up 4 blocks from our house??? She is always there to be feed in the morning and to greet us when we come home from work. She also is very social and greets strangers to be petted. Clearly someone picked her up and took her and then dumped her. LHS didn't care and claimed she was dehydrated and needed grooming??? Really??? We will not be adopting from there again!!!

Truancy policies can catch parents by surprise

It has to be a parenting issue??? If the child has so many absences it is reported because that is the law???? No attempt to investigate what the issue could be or if it could be resolved another way. It is totally messed up! It shouldn't be a black and white issue. Andy Taylor used to say "Sometimes you have to consider the human equation".

Who cares? He's just playing the system!!! He's tired from playing all these all star games?? Then don't play! What's the point? They aren't even glorified practices. Nobody plays defense. He's already the No. 1 pick. Going to Kentucky won't mean he'll get a Championship(see this last season). Teams play defense. He better protect his boys when he sets a pick just ask EJ!!!
