"Kansan by choice." Almost four years, now. :)

How I came to live in Lawrence

Born, raised, and educated in the elitist East, I found a great job after college but was laid-off/fired from the big-city future I was so sure was mine. Hurt, but determined to stay in the same field, I begged my way to a no-pay office job--in Lawrence, KS. At night, I danced at a gentleman's club for income. Rather unwillingly, I fell in love with my taboo job. As of August 2012, I'm officially on vacation until Autumn. :)

Hobbies

I volunteer with a women's group when I can. (Admittedly, I have not had much time in 2012 so far). I also give small monthly donations (every little bit counts!) to my college and the high school I spent the most time at.

My other favorite charities include:

-Echoing Green (social smarts meet $-smarts, unleashing biz talent to solve world problems)
-HCCI of Kansas (offers financial navigation help to Kansans & eye-opening education on poverty)
-The Global Fund for Women (they "mobilize and redistribute resources that enable women to develop creative solutions to local, regional, and transnational challenges")
