Good lord, I totally support the right to pack heat, but had the process taken me a year, I'd reconsider the bother.
From basic pistol safety to CCH class to the trip to get fingerprinted/apply and license in hand it was only about 5 monthsand that was only because I had to wait until the application process(es) opened-otherwise would've been about 2 months.
I have the vague feeling this was a bit of grandstanding for the anti-gun crowd, but being a rural dimwit, I probably just don't get it.

These stories “can” be informative if everything is researched correctly and presented fairly.
Unfortunately, in my humble opinion both as a reader and a former News Director. This has really been over kill (sorry no pun intended) on the part of the LJW.
The paper clearly has an agenda beyond educating and informing the public.
Too much “opinion” has been added which harms the journalistic value of the stories.

guns = safety = tools = men's privates = name calling in general;

I'll say I don't own and don't want to own a gun, but support others' right to own, and that I support the concept of training for all;
