A spill of "biosolids" that was about six to eight inches deep covered the southbound lane of Haskell Avenue for about four blocks this morning, starting at the curve where N 1550 Road becomes Haskell Avenue.

A city trash truck stops about 8:30 a.m. at the curve where N 1550 Road becomes Haskell Avenue to avoid a spill of "biosolids" from a dump truck taking a load from the city's wastewater treatment plant on East Eighth Street to a farm to be used as fertilizer. The spill, which covered about six to eight inches deep, went south on Haskell between 13th and 14th streets.

Police direct traffic about 8:30 a.m. at 13th and Haskell Avenue in east Lawrence, where a dump truck travelling south on Haskell spilled its load of "biosolids" from the city's wastewater treatment plan on the way to a farm to be used as fertilizer.
