Susan Roberts (Copy Chief)
I joined the copy desk at the Lawrence Journal-World in March 1997, and am now the copy chief, supervising four other copy editors. Prior to coming to Lawrence, I worked at the Emporia Gazette for six and a half years, starting as the wire editor and regional reporter and ending as the city editor. I graduated from the University of Kansas in December 1986 and did a six-month internship at the Idaho Statesman in Boise. My husband, Rob, and I met at the Journal-World — he worked for about a year on the copy desk. We married on Cinco de Mayo, 1999, and now live in Eudora with two neurotic wiener dogs, Gus and Sophie, and a pretty mellow cat, Boo. I have two stepsons, Austin, a graduate of Kansas State University, and Todd, a student at Washburn University.
