Ryan Sayler, is pictured in this photograph from December 2006 where he and four other Lawrence police officers received the Medal of Valor, the department's highest award, for their efforts to save residents of burning buildings in the Boardwalk Apartment fire in 2006. Four officers were involved in rescue efforts at the Boardwalk Apartments in the fall of 2006.
