AUTHORITIES ASSESSING DIESEL FUEL LEAK NEAR CLINTON LAKE

Emergency crews spent much of Monday afternoon assessing possible damage from diesel fuel that leaked into a dry stream bed near Clinton Lake. It wasn’t known how much diesel fuel was spilled, but authorities speculated it may have been 10 to 20 gallons.

BANK ROBBER ADMITS GUILT IN LAWRENCE HEIST

An Overland Park man is facing up to 125 years in federal prison for four bank robberies, a car-jacking and firing a gun during a car-jacking. The crimes took place in Lawrence and in Overland Park. Christopher George Nemmers, 22, entered guilty pleas on Monday for the crimes before U.S. District Judge Richard Rogers in federal court in Topeka.
S OFFICE INVESTIGATING CONVENIENCE STORE BURGLARY

Douglas County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the burglary of a convenience store in which the suspects backed their pickup truck into the glass doors of the business to gain entrance. Sheriff’s officers reported that at 1:57 a.m. Sunday, two men backed their pickup into the Total convenience store at Baldwin Junction, at the intersection of U.S. Highways 56 and 59.
