Members of the Percolator Arts Caravan, a local art initiative that takes art activities to rural areas, were at the Lawrence Community Shelter today with a bucket drum workshop, paper flower and hat making booths, and a magician. The event was meant to build a sense of community within the shelter, which serves those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
KU Band Day marches on, even without parade

Police searching for two men after car chase
September 15, 2013
Lawrence police are looking for two white males after a car chase that ended shortly before 11 p.m. tonight. Police attempted to pull over a vehicle that failed to yield near 15th and Harper Streets, but the car sped away. The two suspects fled on foot after a spike strip was used to stop the vehicle at the corner of 15th and Lindenwood lane.
