I'm the editor of Go!, a weekly features magazine highlighting some of the interesting people and neat goings-on in Lawrence. I've worked as a copy editor and page designer for the Journal-World since 2006. I previously worked as a copy editor and reporter for The Lansing Current. I am a former adviser for Angle, the Journal-World's teen advisory board, and am happy to talk to teens who are interested in journalism.

In college, my cousin Leanne came to visit me in Lawrence. During her time here, we happened to see a commercial for Lawrence.com that stuck with both of us. In the commercial, a guy is on stage ranting and ends with, “Some of ya gonna have to work two jobs — ‘cause babies ain’t free.”

Perhaps your dining chairs have seen better days. Or you had to pick up some at a garage sale that don’t match the others just so you would have enough. There’s an easy fix for all of this, assuming you have the fairly standard wooden chairs with a removable seat: re-cover them.

I’ve never been a big fan of the very scary aspects of Halloween. As far as decorations go, I’ll usually stick to pumpkins. But this year I had a new idea — perhaps inspired by the many spiders in my basement sewing area — for a crafty spiderweb.
