Heather Brummitt
Heather was born and raised just east of Lawrence in the De Soto area. She attended Coffeyville Community College for two years before transferring to Kansas Wesleyan University, where she graduated with her bachelor s degree in communication. Heather then went on to pursue her Master s degree in journalism from the University of Kansas-Go Jayhawks!
Heather realized she wanted to work in TV News in high school. She was recognized by a Kansas City TV station one morning as the student volunteer of the week. The station invited her to visit the set and watch the news. It was love at first sight. Heather enjoyed the fasted paced environment of the newsroom and the excitement of sharing the news with the viewers.
Heather remained very active in college with broadcast news. She reported and anchored weekly for all three of her college TV stations.
In her spare time Heather enjoys spending time with her family and her dog, Cajun. She also loves hitting the diamond for a game of softball.
