By Doug Pacey No one on Lawrence High’s baseball team realized just how well junior Aaron Madill had pitched until the Lions saw the box score afterward. By Doug Pacey The back is a tricky body part. Strain a muscle and you might feel pain for a couple of days and have trouble walking. Bruise it badly enough and you might not be able to sit in a chair or sleep comfortably.

By Doug Pacey Felicia Freeman was in the middle of throwing a perfect game, but you wouldn’t have known it by the way she was acting between innings. John Hackman had scrimped and saved long enough that he finally had enough money stashed away to buy that car he wanted. But he didn’t. The 16-year-old bought a bike instead. This wasn’t your mother’s 10-speed, though. It was one of those fancy-schmantzy, aerodynamic kind of road bikes.
