Christy Little (Assistant features/assistant special sections editor)

Christy Little joined the Journal-World staff in June 2001 as a copy editor. Since then, she has served as special sections editor, producing content such as the KU and Progress editions, and also sponsored the J-W teen advisory board from 2002 to 2005.

She is now the assistant features/assistant special sections editor and spends most of her day working on the Pulse section. She also coordinates the Lawrence Datebook.

Christy grew up in Lenexa and graduated with a bachelor's degree in secondary education-English/journalism from Kansas State University. She taught high school journalism in Independence, Mo., before joining the Journal-World staff.

The rambling structure, which includes an office, children’s playroom, poolroom, bar, sauna and wine cellar, is decorated throughout with treasures they’ve collected while traveling worldwide.

It’s one of Lawrence’s best-kept holiday secrets — though the organizers don’t intend it to be that way. The Festival of Nativities enters its 13th year as a local Christmastime tradition. The display of more than 300 Nativity sets and related art will be open to the public most weekends in December, and co-organizer Nancy Atchley would like more people to see the reason behind the season.
