Chris Hoffman was born in Omaha, Nebraska and raised 4 hours West in the small town of McCook, NE.

Chris is currently attending the Academy of Art via online classes and is working towards his bachelors degree in Character Animation.

Chris moved to Lawrence in the Summer of 2004 in search of better job opportunities than those offered back home. After a few years in restaurant management, Chris decided his talents were best used sitting in front of a computer. That's where The World Company came in. Chris joined the Mediaphormedia staff in November of 2006 as an overnight web producer. Though much of his work is done while the rest of Lawrence sleeps, Chris loves being a part of each new installment of the Journal-World and is a proud contributor to ljworld.com, kusports.com, and lawrence.com.

After getting married last summer, Chris is looking forward to what the future will hold. But one thing is for certain: Chris definitely feels right at home here in Jayhawk Country.

KU student killed in single-vehicle accident

Shortly after midnight, emergency crews responded to a one vehicle accident at the intersection of Michigan Street and Sunchase Drive, north of the Kansas Turnpike in Lawrence. One person died at the scene.
