Ben Smith (Social Media Manager)

Ben Smith joined the World Company in January 2000, as a member of the Lawrence Journal-World advertising department. He now serves in the dual role of national advertising and social media manager. Social media responsibilities include the Lawrence Journal-World, Sunflower Broadband, KTKA, online properties including ljworld.com and kusports.com, our community newspaper group, and all other divisions of the World Company. He is responsible for both internal social media strategies and policies, as well as developing the company's social media client services. In addition to his position with the World Company he assists the Suburban Newspapers of America organization with social media strategies, and speaks regularly on social media at national, regional and local events. He also co-founded the local Lawrence Tweetup group, an organization that exists to connect members of the local social media community and bring them together for offline events and networking.
