This panorama shows the inner structure of the dome. At its widest point the dome is 50 feet across and 304 feet tall; 16 feet taller than our nation's capitol.

Graffiti from years of tour groups contrasts the newly polished copper. During the renovations, the history of the building was preserved whenever possible.

A group of students makes their way to the top of the dome. There are 296 steps to the rotunda.

The last set of stairs is a narrow spiral that hovers 75 feet above the chandelier that hangs in the dome.

A panorama of the city. On a clear day you can see about 30 miles from the top of the dome.
