The University of Kansas tandem of Nina Khmelnitckaia and Janet Koch, who will both be seniors this season, finished their strong summer by claiming a doubles crown in Oracle ITA National Summer Championships at TCU in Fort Worth, Texas.

Khmelnitckaia and Koch defeated the University of Wisconsin duo of Sara Castellano and Lexi Keberle, 8-5, to win the championship Tuesday afternoon. In their semifinals match, which took place Monday, Khmelnitckaia and Koch defeated Meghan Kelley and Anna Rogers, 8-2.

On the singles side, meanwhile, Khmelnitckaia knocked out University of California Berkeley’s Olivia Hauge, 6-2, 6-2, in the singles quarterfinals match. She was ultimately defeated by Castellano, 7-6 (7-2), 6-2, to fall just short of making the finals in both brackets.
