Free State sophomore Kaitlyn Hamilton drills a spike across the net against Lawrence High in the City Showdown dual Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017 at LHS.

Free State’s Kaitlyn Hamilton, who will be a junior this season, verbally committed to play volleyball at Indiana State University, the FSHS volleyball team announced via Twitter Tuesday night.

“We are so proud of our Kaitlyn Hamilton, who had verbally committed to continue her volleyball and academic career at Indiana State University,” the team said in the post. “You will do amazing things.”

As a sophomore, Hamilton helped the Firebirds post a 25-15 record en route to a loss in the sub-state championship. Hamilton earned honorable-mention honors on the Journal-World All-Area volleyball team last fall.
