Chou guides Jayhawks to top-10 finish at Briar’s Creek Invitational

The Kansas women’s golf team finished in a tie for eighth place with No. 22 Clemson, firing a collective score of 884 (+20) over 54 holes of play at the Golf Club of Briar’s Creek.

The Jayhawks carded rounds of 286-298-300 at the tournament, beating out Big Ten power and No. 25 Illinois for a top-10 finish.

After posting back-to-back under-par rounds on Monday, junior Yi-Tsen Chou finished strong by firing a 75 (+3) for a three-round score of 216 (E), putting her in a tie for 10th place.

Freshman Pear Pooratanaopa carded a final round score of 73 (+1), moving her 10 spots up the leaderboard for a tie for 24th-place and a collective score of 221 (+5). Sophomore Sera Tadokoro improved 20 spots from yesterday’s action to secure a finish in a tie for 26th place, shooting a three-round 222 (+6).

The Jayhawks will travel to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for the LSU Tiger Golf Classic held at the University Club. The event will be held over three days, starting March 29.
