Brett Vosik’s career day lifts KU baseball to 8th consecutive win

Junior Brett Vosik batted a perfect 5-for-5 at the plate as the Kansas baseball team outlasted Central Connecticut State, 10-8, Tuesday morning at North Charlotte Park in the Snowbird Classic in Port Charlotte, Fla.

The left fielder hit four singles and a double, while driving in a a pair of runs. He also stole a base and scored twice in the win. Behind Vosik’s performance at the dish, the Jayhawks (12-3) notched their eighth consecutive victory, which marks their longest win streak since winning eight in a row in 2017.

All nine starters in the Kansas lineup recorded at least one hit against the Blue Devils (3-4) in the high-scoring affair. Freshman center fielder Casey Burnham (2-for-5), junior second baseman James Cosentino (2-for-4), junior designated hitter Jaxx Groshans (2-for-3) and Vosik all finished with multihit efforts.

Kansas concludes the Snowbird Classic against Seton Hall at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.
