Chou paces Jayhawks after 1st day of Minnesota Invitational

The University of Kansas women’s golf team kicked off its 2018-19 season at the Minnesota Invitational against a talented field of 14 teams, playing 36 holes of continuous play Monday at the Prestwick Golf Course.

Junior Yi-Tsen Chou paced the Jayhawks in both rounds, recording an overall score of 146 on the day. Chou, who is tied for 21st on the individual leaderboard, shot a 4-over 76 in the first round and finished the second round with a 2-under-par 70 to lead the way for Kansas, which is in 11th place in the team standings.

“It was good to see Yi-Tsen come back with an under-par score in the second round,” head coach Erin O’Neil said in a team release. “She got a little aggressive starting out but made the needed adjustments quickly and got back on track.”

The final round begins at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday.
