Area roundup: Perry-Lecompton rolls past Holton

It was a familiar result for the Perry-Lecompton football team.

After dominating in its season opener, Perry-Lecompton cruised to a 46-0 win over Holton in its home opener Friday. The Kaws have now scored 111 points through the first two games, while shutting out both of their opponents. Dalton Kellum led the team with 21 carries for 229 yards.

The Kaws accumulated 502 yards of total offense on 61 plays. Blaine Pattin ran for 88 yards on 10 carries, while Shane Quinlan added 59 yards on nine attempts. Kellum completed 8 of 11 passes for 87 yards and a score.

Perry-Lecompton (2-0) will travel to Sabetha at 7 p.m. Friday.

Piper 51, Baldwin 7

Piper got on the board in first five minutes of the game, and were able to hold on en route to a 51-7 win at Baldwin Friday night. Freshman Kivryen Heck had the lone score for the Bulldogs with 4:16 remaining in the game.

Baldwin (1-1) will travel to Louisburg at 7 p.m. Friday.

Louisburg 22, Tonganoxie 7

Tonganoxie scored just once in a 22-7 defeat at the hands of Louisburg in the home opener.

Senior Hayden Robbins connected with Dallas Bond for a 76-yard touchdown in the second quarter. It served as the long score for THS, as Austin Moore recorded three rushing touchdowns for Louisburg.

The Chieftains (0-2) will travel to Eudora (0-2) at 7 p.m. Friday.

Bonner Springs 40, Eudora 0

Eudora was unable to get in the win column for the second consecutive week under first-year head coach Sean Hayden.

Bonner Springs cruised to a 40-0 win at Eudora Friday. The Cardinals have now allowed 68 points through the first two games against Frontier League foes, while scoring just seven points.

Eudora (0-2) plays host to Tonganoxie (0-2) at 7 p.m. Friday.
