No. 16 Kansas settles for 0-0 draw at Cincinnati

Behind a strong defensive showing, the University of Kansas women’s soccer team battled to a 0-0 draw against Cincinnati Thursday night at Gettler Stadium.

No. 16 Kansas outshot the opposition by a 19-7 margin, but was unable to find the back of the net. It marks the team’s second draw of the season, as the Jayhawks remain unbeaten with a 5-0-2 clip on the season.

“I thought we played really well today,” head coach Mark Francis said in a team release. “Our energy was good. We put them under a lot of pressure defensively when we lost the ball. I thought our movement, up top in the attacking half, like the movement of our front two and our attacking midfielders and our wide guys getting in (was good).”

Kansas travels to Pittsburgh at 12 p.m. Sunday.
