LHS boys bounce back with 72-41 win over Ruskin

The Lions avenged a season opening loss with a 72-41 victory over Ruskin (Mo.) in their first game of the Blue Valley tournament. No. 2 Lawrence (6A) is 1-1.

Clarence King stormed out to score a game-high 14 points in his start, netting seven points in the first quarter. Zeke Mayo had another quality start, scoring 13 by the end of the game. Five different Lions netted a three pointer; King, Mason Quartlebaum, Trey Quartlebaum, Brett Chapple and Peyton Mallory.

The Lions led by five after one frame and continued to dominate down the stretch. Lawrence held Ruskin to just 13 more points between the second and third quarter as they scored 36 of their own.
