In public school funding, how much has base state aid per pupil increased over the past 20 years?

In the current fiscal year, which started July 1, 2012 and goes through June 30, base state aid per pupil stands at $3,838, according to state budget figures. In 1993, base state aid per pupil was $3,600, so it is now $238 per pupil more now than it was 20 years ago. Base state aid per pupil rose to a high of $4,400 per pupil in 2009, but then the state started cutting the base to its current level.
