Sound Off: 30 or more for McLemore

I can’t remember a KU player scoring 30 points in a game as many times as Ben McLemore has this season. When was the last time it happened?

McLemore has three games of 30 points or more this season, including a KU freshman-record 36 points against West Virginia. The last Kansas player to record three games of 30 or more points in his career was All-American Wayne Simien with four (two his junior season in 2003-04 and two his senior season in 2004-05). The last KU player to have three games of 30 or more points in a single season was All-American Paul Pierce during his junior year in 1997-98. McLemore is believed to be the only KU freshman to have three games of 30 points or more, surpassing Danny Manning’s two in 1984-85. Wilt Chamberlain had 17 games of 30+ points his first season as a Jayhawk in 1956-57, but that came during his sophomore year as freshmen could not play varsity in those days.

I'll be glad when he's gone so someone who wants an education can use the free ride. I hate the "one and done" players.

Article doesn't really mention his financial situation. Couldn't the tattoo's have waited. How many AAU games did he play? Transportation? Just saying!!

It's not Ben McLemore's rule. It's not KU's rule. Heck, it's not even the NCAA's rule.

If you have a problem with "one and done" players, then you need to go to the source: the NBA. It's their rule.

For "one and done" players, McLemore seems to be by far the most humble. He's certainly not thumbing his nose at KU.
