Sound Off: Library art project
When will the artists be chosen for the library’s art project to reuse the trees that are being removed, and what will the process be? Can the artists work with the professors and maybe maintain some of the branches for use in their art?
According to Megan Gilliland, the city’s communications manager, the process of felling and milling the trees begins this month; once the trees have been milled, the professors will know how much wood is available for projects. The professors will work with a jury to fill the number of available slots from the open call entries, high school and college students who have shown interest in the project in 2013 as well as invited artists.
