Good grief! That's a whole lot of money. Just wonder how many cost over runs there were?

My wife works for the State of Kansas (for now, until the next round of layoffs) & told me yesterday she watched them tear out a perfectly fine concrete sidewalk & replace it with concrete pavers on one side of the Capitol. W T F ? For what they pay her, that not-needed sidewalk replacement could keep her employed for another year.

All of this is done with borrowed money. At the same time the City of Lawrence and the Lawrence School District are gearing up to increase their deficit spending by $200 million or more. And we think the federal government is the only one to have deficit spending.

The irony is that as the conservatives continue to spew anti-government rhetoric and threaten huge budget cuts, they squander a huge sum of money on a palace for themselves.

And how many of these legislators did we just send back to office? Wake up people, look in the mirror if you want to see the problem.

Is it just me or did they put up all that scaffolding to work on the dome, took it all down, and then put it back up? Did they decide to replace the copper roof? That looked like an elaborate set up!!!
