Sound Off
Sound Off: A recent Sound Off cited an employee from the city’s “marketing division.” Has the city of Lawrence created a new division to market city services or is it competing with economic development services from the chamber?
No, the city hasn’t created a marketing division. Roger Steinbrock, marketing supervisor with the Parks and Recreation Department, has been assisting with some of the city communication in recent weeks.

When the public involvement staff of gov't agencies (state or local) team up with media to allow anybody to ask any question (no matter how dumb or ignorant), it's usually the engineers and technical folks that have to answer the question!! (when they have more imp't. stuff to do)....no matter how ignorant or dumb the question is. Than the public involvement staff who created this nightmare takes the engineer's/technical folks' answer to the ignorant question(s) and post it, such as here.

It's a shame you don't know how to post a reply to someone.

You can't fix stupid patkindle, so don't feel bad if they can't understand you. I guess we'll have to join them until no one works to pay for their freeloading. This country is going down hill at a rapid rate and with the likes of these kind of folks it's going to continue. I think it must be akin to alcoholism but when we hit bottom there will be no up I'm afraid .

Sounds like just city communications, then.

Regardless of the City hiring someone for business development, would you really trust the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce to do anything but support it's Country Club set of controlling members. Fat cats all, Developers, Builders, Realtors, Bankers, Insurancers, Professionals, the rest of the community be damned.
